The Texas Militia is having a by invitation only training exercise for rifle owning patriotic USA Citizens the weekend of Saturday July 24, 2010 on private land south of Woodville, TX. The training area is about 60 miles South of Lufkin and about 45 miles North of Beaumont. The training is free of charge.
We are not meeting just to sit around and talk. Our militia field training requires physical exertion such as patrolling with a rifle and a full combat load. In order to support marriages and families our support roles are reserved for women. All men must be physically fit enough to at least hike with a rifle and a full combat load. Women are allowed to fully participate in our field training activities or they may just observe if they want to but we require all men who attend to be willing and physically fit enough to participate in our field training activities. We will have militia light infantry combat training with force on force combat simulations using blank ammunition and then after each battle we will have a debriefing to go over what we have learned from each combat simulation. Because our goal is to learn it doesn’t matter which side wins each battle. The true winners are those who have learned something. We should have enough .223, .308, and 7.62x39 blanks on hand for all participants but bring you own blanks if you have any. We will have strict safety rules for using the blank ammunition. The militia training exercise will start at 9 am Saturday July 24th. You can start camping out with us there anytime after 8pm Friday July 23rd. If you arrive after dark Friday night we should have a flasher or a chem stick light and a sign at the gate so you can find us. Saturday night we plan to have a force on force night op followed by a debriefing. You can leave Saturday night or Saturday evening if you have to, or you can camp out with us Saturday night to continue training with us Sunday morning. The training exercise will end by 1 pm Sunday July 25th. We will have small unit light infantry combat training. We will practice ambushes, counter-ambushes, and patrolling. We will have training ops both daytime and nighttime. We will also have class room type training so bring a note book and a pencil too. No cameras will be allowed. No alcohol will be allowed. All cell phones must stay inside your vehicle at all times. Bring your rifle, handgun, ammo, paper targets, a full combat load, web gear, camelbak or canteen, camping gear, folding or camp chair, entrenching tool/folding shovel, what you want to eat, drinking water, bring your blank firing adapter for your rifle if you have one for our force on force light infantry warfare training. Wear woodland camo BDUs if you have them (or wear hunting camo if you don't have BDUs), lace up jungle boots, combat boots or hunting boots. Bring a flashlight, a Coleman lantern if you already have one. Bring a poncho, and a tent in case of rain. If you don't have it all, bring what you can and collect what you don't have over time. For recommended militia gear see: http://kissata.homestead.com/equipmentlist.html Everyone needs to bring at least one large trash bag and help keep all trash picked up. We must not leave any mess or trash for the land owner/host and we must not throw cigarette butts or any toilet paper on the ground. There is no rest room at training area so we will have to dig a latrine. Our force on force light infantry warfare training with blanks will be conducted as combat simulations to learn from not as games. All militia units and fire teams attending the field training exercises can maintain their unit command structure and may participate as a team against the other team or teams in our force on force combat simulations. Training with us you can learn how to fight as a team and you can learn how to train a local defense group to fight as a team. If a group of 12 well armed hunters with no combat infantry or militia combat training experience fought against an equally equipped 12 man invading foreign military long range reconnaissance patrol, the group of hunters would be wiped out 9 times out of 10 because the hunters would not know the art of fire and maneuver and the hunters would not know how to coordinate their efforts to fight as a team. To get an invitation, maps, and directions to our militia training exercise send an e-mail to contact@texasmilitia.info telling us a little about yourself if you haven't already (such as any previous militia, military, or law enforcement experience and what city in Texas you live in or nearest to), and we can send you maps and directions to the training exercise. Even if you have attended before please RSVP if you can so we will know how many participants to plan for. Feel free to forward this message to you e-mail contacts who might be interested. |
